It is reported that in the 1930s a school bus of children stalled while crossing the train tracks in this small town. Without warning, a train barrelled down the tracks and hit the bus, killing 10 children and the bus driver.

People who travel to the location today turn off their car and put it in neutral. The spirits of the children are said to push the vehicle over the train tracks, to save them from being hit. If people sprinkle powder over the back of the vehicle beforehand, some find handprints of the helping children's ghosts. Some people also report sounds of screaming as well as train whistles when no train is nearby.

Some say that the roads in the neighborhood were named for the children who died in the accident.
